If you like to hike and bike, you can tackle the 4.1-mile Wolfpen Hike and Bike Trail or the 1.7-mile Beaver Slide Nature Path that winds along the lakeshore. The park also offers kayak and paddleboard rentals.
Circle J Guest Ranch
When you need a quiet, rural escape, travel approximately 12 miles east of Mabank to Circle J Guest Ranch. This camping and event venue retreat in the heart of East Texas boasts over 100 acres of untouched wilderness. The ranch has several camping options available, including primitive sites, tent sites with electricity, and RV sites with full hookups. The ranch also offers all types of activities to enjoy, including fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and paddling.
Rockin’ Sunset RV
If you travel 29 miles north of Mabank to Terrell, you’ll find Rockin’ Sunset RV. Sites at this pet-friendly campground include concrete RV pads and full hookups. You’ll also find plenty of amenities to enjoy at the campground. The 7-acre stocked pond is the perfect place to cast a line and see what’s biting.
