They say that everything is bigger in Texas. But the town of Mabank, TX is actually pretty small with a population of just over 3,300. 2. Plowboys Café
Plowboys specializes in burgers but that doesn’t mean they can’t serve a mean breakfast as well. Located in the Cedar Creek Brewery, this place is a hidden gem to come for brunch on Sundays. The breakfast burger is served on a croissant and is fabulous. They also serve tantalizing breakfast tacos, loaded hash browns, French toast, and sausage. And since it’s Sunday brunch it wouldn’t be complete without Mimosas. But if you partake in a boozy breakfast, just make sure not to drive.
3. The Roost
Sticking with the theme of down-home country goodness, The Roost keeps it simple and keeps it real, dishing up all small-town favorites like biscuits, chicken-fried steak, and eggs benedict. It’s comfort food at its best with the friendly service you’d expect in a town like Mabank. The eggs and pancakes are delicious, but be sure to check the menu for the “Rebel Rooster” and the “Bulldog.” You won’t be disappointed.
4. LakeSide Café
The LakeSide is primarily Mexican cuisine, but it serves up a great traditional American breakfast as well. It’s a local hot spot that keeps the clientele happily coming back time and time again. Breakfast is served all day here and the variety is excellent. There’s a buffet on the weekend where you can fill your face with made-to-order omelets as well as all the usual favorites. Great food and reasonable prices are the order of the day at the LakeSide café.
5. Heritage Market & Bakery
They say variety is the spice of life, and if that’s true, consider the Heritage Market extra spicy. Follow your nose into this wonderful establishment and you’ll be greeted by a bakery, deli, grocery store, and so much more. The customer service is on point and is second only to the scrumptious pastries they serve up. The locals rave about homemade pies and muffins that go great with a morning cappuccino.
