The 2020 Ford Expedition is a durable, powerful three-row SUV that can carry eight people. It’s ideal for carpooling, fun off-road adventures, and family road trips. Eight trim levels are available: XLT, XLT Max, Limited, Limited Max, King Ranch, King Ranch Max, Platinum, and Platinum max. Keep reading to discover more about this versatile vehicle.

An Appealing, Practical Exterior

The 2020 Expedition has a boxy profile, but its sculpted sides and hood give it a modern look. The prominent chrome grille has the Ford Blue Oval in the center, and several skid plates protect the underside of the SUV from off-road obstacles. You’ll also get roof rails, 18-inch wheels, fog lights, a rear windshield washer, a windshield wiper deicer, automatic high beams, running boards, puddle lights, privacy glass, and manually folding heated side mirrors.

Additional options include a panoramic moonroof, all-terrain tires, power-folding side mirrors with turn signals and memory settings, a hands-free power liftgate, and front tow hooks. Rain-sensing windshield wipers and 20- or 22-inch wheels are available as well. The Max trim levels are longer, with an extra 16.9 cubic feet of cargo space.

Great Performance

This SUV is fun to drive, both on the highway and off-road. Its 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine generates 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque, and it’s connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Expedition can pull up to 9,300 pounds, and hill start assistance and hill descent control help you navigate steep inclines. An integrated trailer brake controller that makes towing easier is optional. You can also select a heavy-duty radiator to prevent overheating during demanding driving sessions and premium off-road shocks for a smooth ride even on rough trails. Models with four-wheel-drive offer seven driving modes: tow/haul, normal, eco, sport, grass/gravel/snow, mud/ruts, and sand. With any mode, you can choose a two-wheel-drive setting to save fuel. This vehicle gets 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

A Luxurious Interior

This comfortable vehicle has a variety of advanced features, including four 12-volt power outlets, 15 cup holders, a rotary gear shifter, cruise control, a universal garage door opener, push-button start, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. It also comes with voice recognition, SiriusXM satellite radio, folding and reclining second-row seats, power-folding and reclining third-row seats, and an eight-way power driver’s seat.

You can add three-zone climate control, remote start, ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, navigation, and an entertainment system for the rear seats. Passengers can mount this system’s two video screens on the backs of the front seats or use them as handheld devices. They can connect to smartphones, play DVDs, or plug into gaming systems. Heated and cooled leather seats, enhanced noise control, wood accents, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system are also available.
